Product description

Determine the e/m ratio with a fully integrated system consisting of Helmholtz coils, electron beam tubes and power supply.

The mass-to-charge ratio of an electron is physically interesting and also of historical significance. When electrons are pushed into a magnetic field, they are deflected in a central movement. Calculating the radius of the electron pass and the size of the magnetic field allows us to determine the e/m ratio.
The risk of incorrect connection is eliminated with this fully integrated, easy-to-use system. The system is suitable for demonstrations and student experiments.
Tip: You can calculate the mass of the electron by also performing Millikan’s oil drop experiment, which determines the charge of the electron.

Make: 3B Scientific, 1013843.
Contents: Integrated system with Helmholtz coils, electron beam tubes and power supply. Digital display of the anode’s voltage and the current in the Helmholtz coils.
Outputs for external measurement of anode voltage and current in the coils.
Power supply: 230 V.
Dimensions:
31x28x41 cm. Coil diameter: 30 cm.
