Use the spectroscope to e.g. examine the light from a fluorescent tube and from a halogen bulb.
Is there any difference?

The light enters one end of the spectroscope and passes through a number of prisms. If you look in the other end, where the light comes out, the light has spread and you see a spectrum. By moving the ring in the middle of the spectroscope, you can focus and thereby get a sharp image of e.g. a line spectrum.
