Study how aluminium discs are slowed as they oscillate in a magnetic field.
Eddy currents are induced in a metal disc oscillating in a magnetic field and the oscillation is slowed enormously according to Lenz’s law.
The eddy currents are much greater in a solid disc than in a slotted disc. This means the solid disc is slowed more vigorously.
