Memory metals have truly amazing qualities.

This kit includes three alloys with various properties, along with a guide which explains how they work.

Spring with one-way memory
This spring is 20 mm long and can be extended to approx. 150 mm. It retains this appearance until it is heated to approx. 70 °C. At this temperature, it gathers itself together again with a force of approx. 5 N.

Spring with two-way memory
This spring, which has a diameter of 10mm, opens out in a second at 90 °C and closes back up again when cooled.

"Programmable" memory wire
At the outset, this wire "remembers" that it should be straight. No matter how you bend it, it straightens itself out when it is heated to approx. 90 °C.
The wire can be "trained" to remember other shapes when you hold it fixed in a specific position while at the same time heating it over a candle, for example (500 °C).
