Demonstrate or examine the magnetic field in and around a coil.
A copper wire with a 1.5 mm diameter is wound like a coil through a plastic plate. The direction of the magnetic field can be studied by placing small magnetic needles on the plate and then passing current through the coil. Do the results match the screw rule?
Induction tip: Change the magnetic field inside the coil using a bar magnet and use an ammeter to see how a current pulse is generated in the coil.
Power supply: Direct current, max. 8 A.
Material: Plastic plate with a copper wire coil.
Dimensions: 12x12x6 cm.
