Exploring how traffic lights work. With the STOP:bit you learn how to program a simple traffic light. If you use two or more STOP:bits you can create an advanced crossing for both pedestrians and vehicles.
The STOP:bit is ready-assembled, all you need to do is to fix the base so that it can stand on its own. Attach your micro:bit to the STOP:bit with the screws included and you’re ready to start coding. To assist you, there are coding blocks specially intended for the STOP:bit.
If you choose to use two or more traffic lights, you can let them communicate with one another via the micro:bit radio function. You decide for yourself how advanced you want your own crossing to be. Use the micro:bit’s sensors to simulate priority being given to emergency vehicles, for example.
